Bottle poured a deep ruby color with minimal light tan head with fair lacing.
Aromas are light malt notes with hints of raisins, wood and toffee notes.
Flavors are subtle as well, dry...bitter...almost sour notes of chocolate and maple. Dark fruit notes with narry a hint of hops.
The Finish; the front is bitter...sour with woody notes, midway through maple and subtle hints of dark fruit. I have enjoyed the back end if this beer the most, where everything comes together with notes of toffee, wood and malts.
