Bottle poured black with a brown head that settles to a solid ring around the glass with great lacing.
Aromas of malts, hops and coffee and some citrus notes.
Up front flavors are coffee, chocolate, bitter roasted malts. Hoppy spices and hints of currant berry, fig and subtle notes of anise.
The Finish; bitter and dry coffee notes with a very slight sourness, slightly fizzy across the tung. A lot of very subtle flavors but stay just out of my reach to attempt identification, bitter keeps hitting throughout. As it warmed up some I could pick out more of the chocolates.
